Context

Air France/KLM (AFKL) was migrating to Azure. The service catalog team provided the self-service building blocks that application teams would rely on, and I worked on the database offering.

What I did

I designed and implemented a Database-as-a-Service offering covering Oracle, PostgreSQL, Cosmos DB and MongoDB Atlas, with provisioning automated through Terraform and Ansible Tower. For the Oracle service, I built the monitoring and alerting stack with EventHub and Centreon.

Requirements came from technical workshops with the AFKL database team, which kept the service aligned with how they worked and made the integration seamless.

Result

Database and application teams got a catalog of managed databases they could request themselves, documented in user guides I wrote for both audiences.
